Things Are Looking Up!!

Lots of exciting things are happening here at MW HQ! Monsterous upcoming shows, new music, videos… the list goes on! Where to begin?!

Firstly, we have been busy beavering away in Babyhead‘s den over the last couple of months working on new tunes and samosa-induced paunches. We can’t wait to try them out on you guys, which is handy because we have some wicked shows coming up!

First up, The Egg have been total bros and asked us to support them at their album launch at Fiddler‘s, which if you haven’t heard yet is AWESOME. And we will also be warming up the Wompers for Sam & The Womp in December too!

We will be releasing the second part of our EP at The Egg show as a Download and Parts 1 & 2 on a Limited Edition ‘Your Circuitry’ CD! We are getting a very short run of CDs done so once they are gone they are gone!

The ‘Your Circuitry’ video is just looking off the hook… but you’ll have to wait to hear more about that one!

“Your Circuitry” Release Date Announcement!

It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce the release of our Brand-Spanking-New EP – ‘Your Circuitry.’ It has been 6 months in the making and we have produced something that we are all mega excited about so for us it has been worth the wait!

jsm shopThe official release date is 4th June 2012 and it will be going out on our very own Jettset Music. It will be available to download direct from the Jettset Shop as well as iTunes & Spotify. We’re getting a proper buff CD done as well which will also be available to order from the Jettset Shop as well as some specially picked Independent Record Stores.

We will be making a new song from ‘Your Circuitry’ available to stream each week leading up to the release starting on 27th April so keep your eyes peeled for facebook updates!

Pre-Orders will be available but for a very limited time only and in true Jettset style all pre-ordered CDs will be scribbled on with sharpies by us! So again, look sharp in the weeks leading up to the release!

So, exciting times for The Way! We’re all really looking forward this release and looking forward to showing you all what we’ve been up to over the winter.

WAKEY WAKEY MILLIONZ!

Firstly, we are very sorry for the lack of communication. But it is not because we haven’t been super busy we promise! It is a very exciting time for the Way with a busy summer of festival shows coming in and the release of our second EP imminent.

We have been beavering away furiously over the border in Cardiff recording our next offering at Jettset Studios and we can’t wait to let you hear it! We are yet to announce the official release date but we can confirm it will be ready for the summer and can assure you it will be worth the wait!

Our very own Jasper has released a five-track EP of his own material, ‘Mixed Messages’ on Jettset Music which has had a great reception and received airplay on BBC Introducing & Amazing Radio. You can listen and buy it from the Jettset Online Shop as well as iTunes and the like.

We’ve had a load of stickers done which we will be giving away at gigs so make sure you come down and grab some to stick on whatever you can think of. Prizes will be awarded to the most inventive applications so make sure you send us photos! You can upload them to our Facebook Page.

Got Ourselves Some Steez!

million way, jettset musicWe ran out of gig clothes. We were gigging so much that all our gig clothes got so dirty and sweaty and horrible. So we thought we’d better take some time off to darn our socks and have our haircuts. (Except Jimvincible, who just wears a hat a bit more now)…

Jim did, however, follow a lead and travel all the way to Turkey to track down some track suits whilst eating a Tracker bar on a running track.  And they were quite the bargain at £250 a piece!*  Such was the impact of this new get-up, that we completely sacked off the band and decided to become male models instead**.

We did some research and found that most male models have their photos taken in fancy photographic studios, in groups of three, in matching outfits, larking about like total benders.  Dutifully we followed suit and rang Nick at NFR Digital (The best male model photographer in town!) and are very pleased/nervous to show you the results!

So as not to put all our eggs in one basket, we thought we ought to keep up the music as a side-line, and have been working on our new EP, with some outrageously cool collaborations which we will save telling you all about until next time one of us fancies typing something.  The EP is due in the Spring, and it is already sounding mega! It might even earn us a Wikipedia entry…

In other news, Jasper has taken some time out from producing Beyonce and Rhianna’s new single***, and produced an absolute belter of a solo EP. It’ll be released soon on Jettset Music.  Jimbo’s been working his label-boss socks off, and Jimvincible got his chainsaw license.

Summer 2011 Million Way Style!

Well there it is! A gazillion miles (mostly economically driven :-S), 19 gigs, 2 weddings, too many bottles of whisky, 2 MIDI controller keyboards, 1 million drum sticks, 1 trashed hire van and countless hours of banter- mostly inane, but some incredibly insightful!

From being sat throwing pebbles at a sandal on the beach in Cornwall, to sat in traffic hurling abuse at motorists in London, it’s been a right ruddy adventure. We’ve spent the summer smashing up festival stages and venues (and quite literally, a hire van) with our chunky electro across the South and have built up a right-good rabble of friends and fans in the process! We appreciate all the support we’ve been shown, especially by the MEGA dance moves from the front to the back- that’s what really gets us going!

Our final festival show was at Aeon in Devon; we arrived after a game of inter-car charades to be met with rain on a biblical scale.  It didn’t stop for 5 hours! Luckily it had cleared up in good time for our set (none of us could sit in the car any longer!) and the crowd responded in true Westcountry style by getting proper pissed and throwing the kind of shapes that only seem appropriate on a Friday night…

NEW EP!
We are now very pleased to announce that work on our next EP has officially begun. We are currently at the pre-production stage and have recorded some guide tracks and rough arrangements. We have a few vocalist/ MCs lined up as collaborators plus a very exciting collaboration with an Animation guru for a Video- YES!

The EP is to be released on our very own label (more info on this soon) and should be ready for release in December along with a bloomin’ great tour (fingers crossed!). We’ll keep you updated on the recording process and any antics along the way!

We’ve got one final outing – a homecoming gig at Brisfest on 24th September – Saturday night on the Main Stage! Come and celebrate with us!

Finally, a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who’s come to a show, downloaded our EP, bought a T-shirt or fed us booze. It’s been a BLAST!
